Weather 8/5/2021

A stalled frontal boundary over the gulf states is keeping the atmosphere deeply saturated. The Nation Weather Service has issued a flood warning to our neighboring counties of Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, and Sumter. 4 to 7 inches of rain has fallen in these areas, and more is expected today. Model consensus shows this stalled front drifting into the north tonight into tomorrow, decreasing the rain probability slightly— setting up a typical summer-like pattern for this weekend. Temperatures today are expected in the mid to high ’80s this afternoon due to the considerable cloud coverage. Showers and storms may occur this afternoon. Drive safely while on the road today as the roads may be wet, and remember always to wear a seatbelt.
