Lee County Commissioner’s mandated that Lee County Sheriff’s office inspects every gas pump and place a sticker of lee county sheriff’s office.
Zero stickers and Zero inspections??????

Three skimmers were found at a 7-Eleven in Lehigh Acres. The gas station is located at 1626 Meadow Rd., between SR-82 and Sunshine Boulevard. This station had NO inspection from the Lee County Sherriff and NO stickers on the pumps when the story broke on June 16, 2021
So why is Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno not doing inspection per order of Lee County Ordinance 19-09 in 2020 and 2021.
County Ordinance 19-09 states “Each Fuel Pump which contains a Scanning Device in Lee County shall have affixed to or installed on the exterior of any Fuel Pump a visible Fuel Pump lock, which requires an access key unique to each facilities’ location, to restrict the unauthorized access of consumer Payment Card information.”
According to Captain Anita Iriarte Public Affairs Lee County Sheriff’s Office the Senate bill 430 sign by the Governor in 2021. According to the Captain, This bill took effect 7/1/2021. This new state law makes the county ordinance unenforceable.
But in the bill, states it goes into effect Effective January 1, 2022.
