Editorial
Harassment by the Lee County Commissioner includes unwanted groping, kissing, hugging, and inappropriate sitting on subordinate’s desk and even making comments directed toward current and former employees and even taxpayers.
It is the policy of Lee County to provide and maintain a work environment free from harassment. Lee County maintains a strict policy of prohibiting harassment based upon race, sex, religious belief, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, age, or any other category of persons protected by federal, state, or local law, ordinance, or regulation.
This current Lee County Commissioner knows better but he believes he’s above the law.
This isn’t a bombshell since most of the Lee County staff already know about it.
We can’t prove it yet but this Commissioner has even retaliated against at least one former employee, fostered a toxic workplace that enabled the harassment, and created a hostile work environment. Why?
This conduct will corrode the very fabric and character of our Lee County government.
The people that the Commissioner has harassed are afraid of him. We wonder why?
We are sure on one thing that this Commissioner will deny this misbehavior.
