Written by Omar Gonzalez

According to the National Weather Center, as of 2 pm, Elsa has maximum sustained winds of 70 mph with higher gusts, moving north at 9mph.

Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate this evening as a potential hurricane approaches our west coast. Models have shifted a tab eastward, Elsa will hug the coast. It’s important to note that tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles from the center of circulation. Please take necessary and responsible steps to ensure your safety tonight.

Our entire viewing area is under a tornado watch until 11 pm tonight; this means conditions are favorable for tornadic activity. Be cautious of any loose debris in your yard, as severe weather is expected for tonight.
