Hurricane Elsa is in a vulnerable state

Written by Omar Gonzalez

Hurricane Elsa is in a vulnerable state, as she feels the impacts of the vertical shear. She must thread the eye of a needle if she`s expected to survive the following 36 hours. She continues to sprint west-northwest at 31 mph as she approaches Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Cuba. Interaction with the land during this weakened state is crucial in determining what impacts Elsa will have on Florida, as the mountainous terrain can hinder any further development.

The possibility of redevelopment after land interaction remains; however, the odds are not in its favor. Nevertheless, tropical moisture will be present near the west coast of Florida Tuesday into Wednesday.
