Two dogs were dumped and left with nothing but their collars with a message written on each reading ‘I need a home’.
The dogs were found Tuesday night around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Olive Avenue North and 64th Street Westin Lehigh Acres.
According to witness Talia Rosado, a red truck with chipped paint and a matching red camper in the bed pulled up to the intersection, abandoned the dogs, and sped away.
Rosado went outside to investigate. She found the dogs with a note on their collar reading “I need a home”, and the dog’s names, ‘8 Ball’ and ‘Lil Mama’.
Rosado said she gave the dog’s water and food while she waited for the Lee County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to respond to the scene.
DAS believes Lil Mama is a 6-month old black and white female Boxer and Pit Bull Terrier mix. 8 Ball is believed to be the same female mixed-breeds, white in color, and about 7-years-old.
