What is the fire dept hiding from the residents and taxpayers of Lehigh Acres?
With gas prices skyrocketing since November 2020, we wanted to see if the fire dept was during to right thing.
So, we made a public records request to the Fire Department for the following information:
How many Chief vehicles are take home? It’s a number _______
Now of those take-home vehicles how many of those employees live outside the district? It’s a number _______
How many of all employees currently live one hour or more from the district? It’s a number _______
And the Fire dept refuses to answer them and say it’s not a public record. But the residents and taxpayers have a right to know.
So the Lehigh Acres Gazette sent the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District and got these answers within two and a half hours by David Lindsay after hours.
How many office employees’ (including yourself) take vehicles home? It’s a number _0, it’s my personal truck.
Now of those take-home vehicles how many of those employees live outside the district? It’s a number _0
How many of ALL employees currently live one hour or more from the district? It’s a number _0. A few in Cape Coral. 45 MINS.
It sounds that the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District is during the right thing when it comes to employee-used vehicles. How about our local fire dept and your taxpayer dollars?
