Florida Forest Service responded to a mulch fire on a business’s property in Buckingham Wednesday night.
Our crew confirmed Tice Fire Department led the response to a mulch fire at Country Lake Farm, a business that deals in compost, mulch, potting soil and top soil.
According to the forestry service, fire activity was knocked down. The fire department and forestry were given the go-ahead to clear the scene.
The fire department and forestry plan to return in the morning to check on the property. Crews plan to flatten the mulch pile Thursday to make sure it doesn’t spark back up.
The property is along Orange River Boulevard from the north and Tice Street from the south. Large smoke could be seen closer to the property entrance on Tice St.
Neighbors we spoke to said there have been several fires at this property in the past.
Drivers in the area are advised to use caution for possible smoke.
