March 5 at 1 pm the county commission will hear a proposal to end the 30-year lease with the civic center. If approved it will allow the Babcock Ranch developer Syd Kitson to lease the property and put a hotel and shopping where our kids have 4-H and the fair.
Babcock has thousands of acres now, but wants a foothold at the bridge.
Lee County Commissioners need to stop interfering with business. They should protect this property like a park, because it’s the last venue for stuff like this. The craft shows, gun shows, camping shows, the fair, rodeos, etc. will all be gone.
You need to speak up at this meeting and stop Kitson from taking our civic center.
