Obituary – Josefina Alcantar

Josefina Alcantar known as Fina to her family and friends, 67 of Lehigh Acres Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Fina was born in Fort Myers Florida on February 7, 1953, to Felicita Soto Sanchez. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. Her family lived in Immokalee Florida and later moved to Wauchula Florida.

Fina and her husband Juan fell in love and began their journey on December 25, 1967.

They later married on March 6, 1969. Fina and Juan settled in Immokalee Florida where they raised their family.

Fina was a loving mother and volunteered at her children’s school in her spare time. She was a devoted wife and mother, who would do anything and everything for her family.

Fina is survived by her ever-loving husband of 51 years Juan Luis Alcantar and 8 children, Juan Luis Alcantar Jr (Helen), Mary Ann Alcantar, Maricella DeLisle (James), Esmeralda Becerra (Ramiro), Juan David Alcantar (Juanita), Jose Daniel Alcantar, Cristoval Alcantar, Alejandro Alcantar and 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Surviving is also her mother Felicita Soto Sanchez, sisters Lydia Gallegos, Elida Perez, many nieces, and nephews.

Fina was preceded in death by her grandbaby Jonathon Matthew DeLisle, brothers Juan Sanchez III, and Joel Sanchez.

A small private celebration of life in Fina’s honor is planned in the near future.
