Did you know??

Did you know that since the Wuhan Virus lockdown, millions of pounds of vegetables, meat, poultry, milk and other edible products have gone to waste?

Farmers have been plowing under their vegetable crops, dumping millions of gallons of milk and even smashing chicken eggs that have not been able to be sold to stores because of contact restrictions put in place by CDC/State guidelines regarding human-to-human contact. The pandemic has shut down most of America where these food items are normally sold–not only in some stores, but in restaurants, schools and hotels as well.

The destruction of so much food going to waste has caused President Trump to order 3 billion dollars in American taxpayer money to be spent on dairy, meat and produce from American farmers during the economic upheaval due to the Virus pandemic. Trump in a recent tweet stated that the food purchased would be given to food banks and kitchens. Americans who are hungry due to loss of employment and income all across the country would benefit. This means that over the next few weeks, the U.S Department of Agriculture will begin spending $300 million per month to buy surplus vegetables, fruit, milk and meat from distributors and ship them to food banks. Federal grants are also being made available to subsidize boxing up food products and transporting them to charitable organizations.
