Public Information Officer Demoted and Transferred by Sheriff Marceno.
Pictured here is Tony Schall. Tony was a well-known News Anchor at NBC TV-2 in Fort Myers, Florida prior to being hired by Sheriff Mike Scott for the position of Public Information Officer.
Schall has served the Sheriff’s Office very well until this weekend when Interim Sheriff Marceno demoted him from the PIO office and transferred him to the Juvenile Assessment Center. Reason for the demotion? Sheriff office will not comment, why?
Last week Schall filed a public information request which is mandated to do according to Florida State Statutes 119. But these particular records were about Marceno and 6 highly paid and high-ranking members going to a cake party in Tallahassee costing taxpayers OVER $6,000!
So, Schall did his job perfectly but because Marceno had his feelings hurt because he looks so bad in that incident, he took it out on Tony.
We call it, Marceno’s revenge.
