Commander of professional standards Paul Cummins retired a couple of months ago and was just rehired into the same exact position with the same rank. His position was never filled after he left.

Commander of school resource officers Michael Miller retired and was immediately rehired into the same exact position.

  1. These guys should be fired with no retirement money at all,and spend some time in jail. They should be able to get away with this.???

  2. I can tell you a good ol boy favor that Lee and Charlotte County State attorney 20th judicial circuit did for the Charlotte County sheriff and 2 of his employees involving covering up a murder. Those who turn a blind eye to murder are just as guilty as those who commit it. Ask me about that!

  3. Yeah, Not really seeing the issue. It just sped up the rehire by a few months. This is not illegal, and it happens all the time in all Florida Govt departments. There is nothing illegal about collecting retirement and collecting a check. They can’t start another retirement account. So is it really double dipping? Not really.
The only thing the order did was relax the rehire criteria.
