The Lee County School District just confirmed to Lehigh Acres Gazette that this is because of law enforcement activity in the area.
The school is just off Lee Boulevard near Sunshine Boulevard.
We’re told law enforcement is escorting students on campus as they arrive.
The School District of Lee County confirms that the lockdown at Sunshine Elementary has been lifted. It lasted for about 30 minutes.
