Five units responded from the Lehigh Acres Fire District to a brush fire at the 2400 block of Richard Avenue South.
Lehigh Acres firefighters said a family was burning a bag at their home when the fire got out of control.
The fire burned one acre of land and got dangerously close to neighboring homes.
