So if you were on Social Security in 2019 you get a 1.6% increase but Cost Living in the first half of 2019 is 1.7% and you will pay the fire fee assessment of $351.38 which went up 5.79% over the prior year. Do these numbers add up …… yes they do add up you’re broke…….

Lehigh Acres Fire Dept Employees have received two pay raises since 2015 nearly 10% (Oct 1, 2019, they received 5%) and the commissioners are looking to reopen wages contract for District 6 the rank-and-file of the department.
52% of the Lehigh Acres firefighter do not live in the Lehigh Acres Fire District. If they live more then an hour away it is a violation of FEMA rules and the department may not be allowed to be reimbursed from an incident.
