Learn intermediate computer skills with the guidance of our technology instructor. Using Windows 10, this class covers a variety of topics including identifying keyboard shortcuts, using the control panel, removing programs, backing up files and more. Space is very limited and registration is required.
Writers’ Workshop

Join local writers as they meet each month to practice, share and discuss various literary art forms including poetry, short stories, novels, memoirs, and plays. All are welcome.
Explore with Oculus Go

Step into virtual reality with Oculus Go. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced user, anyone can try out these VR headsets to play games, use apps or browse the internet. This program is for ages 18 and up. Registration is required.

East County Craft Club: Book Page Pumpkins
2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5
Upcycle to create a colorful centerpiece in this fun craft program for adults. Participants will make their own decorative pumpkins from discarded books. All materials will be provided. This program is intended for ages 18 and over. Registration is required.
Book Discussion: “Circe” by Madeline Miller

In the house of Helios, mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child – not powerful like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves. But to protect what she loves most, Circe must choose, once and for all, whether she belongs with the gods she is born from or the mortals she has come to love.

A casual, self-guided group of knitters and crocheters share projects, ideas, and techniques. Participants should bring their own projects; basic materials are available for newcomers.
Stamping with Sammie: DIY Greeting Cards

Social Media Basics

What are the tweets and status updates? How do I video chat with family and friends? Our technology instructor teaches essential skills to make use of today’s top social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Skype. Space is very limited and registration is required.

What a decade. Through music and memorabilia, visit the America that your grandparents or great-grandparents knew. Prohibition, bootleggers, flappers, speakeasies, automobiles, literature, sports, film, radio and more. Presented by Steve Valdespino, a teacher for 25 years and creator of “Have Lecture, Will Travel.”

Toddler Tales

For ages 18-36 months. This interactive and active time for toddlers and their caregiver is designed to advance prereading and social skills. They’ll experience storytelling, wordplay, felt board stories, fingerplays, puppets, singing, music-making, socializing, dancing and, of course, books.
Baby Rhyme Time
10 & 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 2, 30
For babies up to 18 months. During this special storytime, you and your baby will learn new nursery rhymes and fingerplays, interact with puppets, sing, read books and dance.
Preschool Storytime
10 a.m. Thursdays, Oct. 3, 31
For ages 3-5. Children attend this program independently while the caregiver waits nearby. Your preschooler will continue to build relationships with other kids, books, and the library in a storytime designed specifically for them. The stories and activities are more complex, but just as fun.
Kids Read Down Fines

Children and teens can earn a $2 credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Credit may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only and applies only to charges on overdue materials. Please bring your library card.
STEAM Saturday

Join us for family-friendly STEAM exploration. Each month will feature a different activity based on the aspects of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. This is a great opportunity for parents and kids to build, learn and play together. For grades K-5 with an adult.

Community Helper Storytime Featuring the Forestry Department
