Copperhead Golf Club closed abruptly on July 8, 2019, without any notice to the employees. According to the owner the Golf Club has been running in the red for some time. The owner Allen Collins told the Lehigh Acres Gazette has been put up for sale for two million dollars. Collins was hoping that the “city” of Lehigh Acres would buy it and turn it into a park.
Collins would not talk about the now-former employee’s benefits that they say he is refusing to pay them.
Lehigh is not a city.
The owner of the golf course thinks Lehigh Acres is a city. Yes it’s a community only.
It’s not a city. It’s not a town. It’s the new quarters of lee county. Planned and set into fruition by county leaders years ago.
