
On the ballot Tuesday June 4 is a single question that asks voters if they support a new fire fee system for the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District that will charge the charge for fire and ems services
The new plan sets a base fee of $165 per lot, whether there is a building on the parcel or not.
Lots where a building has been constructed would be assessed $1 for every $1,000 in improvement value.
Documents show that the Chief officers of the Lehigh Acres Fire Department will be receiving a 5% pay raise on Oct 1, 2019, and an additional 5% Pay raise on Oct 1, 2020.
Also, documents show that the Firefighters of the Lehigh Acres Fire Department will be receiving a 4% pay raise on Oct 1, 2019, and an additional 4% Pay raise on Oct 1, 2020.
If voted in this fire fee assessment puts 10 millions extra in the hands of the fire commissioners each year.
This special election cost the fire dept nearly $200,000 in cost and legal fees. That’s your tax dollars being used to raise your taxes.

I am a business owner in Lehigh Acres, I do not live in Lehigh, there for I have NO VOTING rights, Dosen’t matter if I agree or disagree with this ballot I have no voice.. This is WRONG!!! I pay taxes, but I have no voice!
