RPM Replacement Project (raised pavement markers) – Contractors for Lee County will be performing a moving operation with traffic delays (weather permitting) 5-23-19 through 5-29-19 on the following roadways: 12th ST W from Gunnery Road to Sunshine Boulevard Alabama Road from SR 82 to Homestead Road Leeland Heights Boulevard from Joel Boulevard to Homestead Road Richmond Avenue from Greenbriar Boulevard to Sunrise Boulevard Williams Avenue from W 17 Street to Lee Boulevard W 12th Street from Joel Boulevard to Sunshine Boulevard.
Gunnery Road and 8th Street SW – A contractor for Lee County DOT will have lane closures periodically at the intersection of Gunnery Road and 8th Street SW starting Monday, May 20th to August 1st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will be working in the north and south bound thru lane of Gunnery Road and the eastbound/westbound lanes of 8th Street SW from Gunnery Road to Floyd Ave South. Gunnery Road to Gretchen Ave South will be closed to traffic until the widening of 8th Street SW is complete. Motorists should use caution, as there will be lane closures and flagmen working in the work zone. Lane closures for this intersection will be ongoing from May 20th to August 1 st, 2019 of this year.
Homestead Road from south of Sunrise Boulevard to north of Alabama Road: Construction Project: This project consists of widening Homestead Road to four lanes. This work will also improve drainage and install new underground utilities. A six-foot sidewalk will be constructed on both sides of the roadway. Motorists should expect lane closures during daytime hours. Project cost is $14.4 million. The contractor is Stevens and Layton, Inc. Lehigh Acres Municipal Service Improvement District (LA-MSID) Projects: McArthur Blvd Road Closure/Detour – Lehigh Acres Municipal Service Improvement District (LA-MSID) will be replacing culvert pipes across McArthur Blvd in Lehigh Acres. · McArthur Blvd will be closed between Grant Blvd & Butler Av S beginning May 23rd, 2019. A detour will be posted. Work is expected to be completed by June 10th 2019
