The driver of an SUV seen traveling erratically along Daniels Parkway and involved in a multi-vehicle chain-reaction crash Monday morning has been identified as Mandy Leigh Bosley, 40, of Alva.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Bosley may have may have had a medical issue before the vehicle crashed into several others, leaving her with critical injuries.
The FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
An FHP report said Bosley, driving a 2010 Ford Equinox, was on Daniels near Ben C. Pratt Parkway shortly after 8:30 a.m. and drove through the grass median before turning around and heading west on Daniels near Pratt.
Three other vehicles were stationary facing west in the outside left turn lane of Daniels at Pratt.
As Bosley approached the intersection, the Equinox entered the outside turn lane and rapidly approached, striking a 2018 Acura MDX at the rear. The Equinox continued and struck the right rear section of a 2009 Dodge Avenger, pushing the car into the rear left portion of a 2018 Honda Accord.
The FHP report said Bosley displayed confusion while being checked out by medics on scene and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center where more serious health concerns were discovered. The FHP said she may have had a medical episode prior to the collision.
The drivers of the second, third and fourth car were not hurt.
