A Lehigh Acres man was killed Friday morning in a crash involving a school bus.
Juan Carlos Quijada Amaya was traveling north on Buckingham Road, south of Orange River Road when he approached a curve.
Florida Highway Patrol said, He failed to negotiate the curve and drove into the path of a Lee County school bus. He was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver of the school bus was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. No children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. and closed Buckingham Road to traffic for hours.
There was a second crash at the same location shortly after the initial fatal crash. There were no injuries in that incident. Both crashes are under investigation.
