LAFD arrived just in time to stop a brush fire from spreading to homes in a neighborhood off SR-82 early Monday morning.
Crews responded around 3:30 a.m. and set up along 28th Street SW and 29th Street SW.
The one-acre blaze had been burning for about three hours, slowly spreading toward homes.
The Lehigh Acres Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and stayed on scene to monitor any hot spots for hours.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
