Nearly 350 people turned out Tuesday to welcome the nation’s 42nd president in a room that held 190 according to the fire department.
Bill Clinton held a rally at the Riverside Community Center in Fort Myers.
The purpose of Clinton’s visit was to get people registered to vote – and vote for his wife, Hillary.
Clinton called it the most important election of our time, and people at the rally agreed.
A capacity crowd greeted Clinton while many more were forced to stand outside, unable to get into the event.
At one point, supporters of Donald Trump showed up to protest when Clinton supporters stood their ground.
The protestors were escorted to a free speech zone.
Clinton focused on the need to get people registered since the federal court extended voter registration to Wednesday in Florida because of Hurricane Matthew.
Bill Clinton asked during the speech, “Do you know what the problem is?” A guy in the audience yelled out, “Yeah! Bill Clinton is a rapist! “And was escorted out of the building.
