Dennis Eugene Johnson arrested in August in connection to the death of a Lee County bus driver Alberta Harris was released from jail after spending 40 days in jail. .
The State Attorney’s Office told the Lehigh Acres Gazette they had to release Dennis Eugene Johnson because they don’t have enough evidence to charge him.
Investigators said Johnson shot and stabbed his lover Alberta Harris back in April.
Johnson has been released on his own recognizance but will still have to attend court appearances until the case is disposed. He has a hearing set for October 4th.
