“God’s Work, Our Hands.” is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. This year’s dedicated day of service marks the 15-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the United States.
Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres, Florida is a part of the ELCA nationwide event, “God’s Work, Our Hands.” As Faith continues to share God’s love with our neighbors, Faith will be hosting give back community projects in Lehigh Acres.
- First, Faith will be thanking our local first responders by making and delivering lunch to two fire stations and the sheriff’s station.
- Second, Faith’s chancel choir and volunteers will be visiting Brookdale Lehigh Acres (formerly Sterling House) to bring music and song to the residents.
- Third, Faith members, with their sponsored Cub Scouts Pack 720, will partner with the Lee County Sheriff’s Station to provide a car wash. A free will donation will be accepted to benefit Lee County Sheriff’s Fallen Officer Fund This will take place at the Sheriff’s Station in Lehigh located on 1301 Homestead Road N.
- Our Fourth project will involve Faith members and Cub Scout Troop 720 hosting a breakfast for the homeless in The Knights of Columbus parking lot, 1250 Business Way, Lehigh Acres.
All of these events will be taking place on Sunday, September 11 concurrently starting at 8am and finishing at 10 AM! In remembrance of the 15-year anniversary of September 11th, we will be adjusting our Sunday service to 11am on that day. All are welcome to attend.
