A Continuous Flow Intersection Coming Soon

The continuous flow intersection is being recommended for the reconstruction of S.R. 82, and Daniels / Gunnery, this plan that will widen the two-lane road to six lanes through much of Lee County, and then four lanes into Hendry and Collier counties.

The S.R. 82 version of the continuous flow interchange would be the first in Florida.

Louisiana’s Department of Transportation built one of the first continuous-flow interchanges in Baton Rouge. In Utah and Texas, similar structures have also been built.

“FDOT is currently looking at this design to improve other appropriate intersections throughout the District One and the state,” said FDOT spokesman Zachary Burch.
