Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help gathering any information on a violent home invasion robbery in Lehigh Acres Tuesday morning.
The victim was in bed just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, when she heard a loud banging at the front door of her Gardner Avenue home. She heard two men yelling “Police,” which prompted her to see what was happening. As she was walking out of her bedroom, the victim was met by two Hispanic males, both wearing black masks, black sweatsuits and black gloves. The men pushed her back onto the bed and bound both her hands and ankles with zip ties, instructing her not to move or she’d be hurt. One of the suspects held a silver knife, with a red handle, against her throat, while the second male ransacked the house. Taken during the robbery was a handgun, jewelry, four designer purses, as well as other items. The men were even bold enough to remove the woman’s wedding ring from her hand before they left.
Both men are Hispanic and spoke Spanish, in which is believed to possibly be a Cuban dialect.
