I’m curious. How will the Republican leadership of coastal Counties (Charlotte, Lee, Sarasota) promote Tom Rooney to us voters this Fall ? “Yeah, but he’s a really great guy?” “What are a few million dead fish. Tom votes with Republicans 94% of the time?”
More than anyone (other than Chuck Schumer and Marco Rubio), Tom Rooney is responsible for the algae in our rivers, canals, and beaches. These people are in the pockets of Big Sugar PACS, who dump those phosphates and nitrogen into Lake Okeechobee, that cause green algae.
Green Algae smothers fish and other aquatic life, and causes harm to humans – especially those with respiratory issues. In turn, fishing, crabbing, and lobster as well as Sports Fishing industries suffer. You can bet that green algae news stories are being broadcast on Northern TV Stations – which surely will affect tourism.
Without Tom Rooney’s support for high tariffs on sugar imports (which costs thousands of jobs as Hershey’s, Russell Stover; Nabisco move to Canada and Mexico), and his blocking of EPA regulations and threatening lawsuits against Environmental Groups, Big Sugar would be out of business.http://www.sawyer2016.com/BIG-SUGAR-AND-SUGAR-DADDY.html .
So we American taxpayers pay out of our pockets to keep the very Big Sugar growers in their Hampton Waterfront Mansions. who bribe Congressman to keep them in business. In return, they show their gratitude by polluting our waterways and beaches, and costing Floridians jobs
.
Ahh. but Tom Rooney’s a Republican. That’s the only thing that counts with the Republican leadership. My conscience said no, and I resigned from the Charlotte County Republican Executive Committee, and my Chair position on the Ted Cruz Campaign.

Why does the media still attribute the green algae pollution to the release of water by the Army Corps of Engineers. It’s NOT the water. It’s what is in the water.
