Connor Blias – Connor was not to be there because he was in England. His Father Doug Blais picked up the award for him. The Lehigh Acres Gazette got ahold of Conner by Facebook and he said, “It’s a great honor to be recognized for this award. A lot of hard work and dedication went into my project but to really pull it off it was the local community that made it possible. Without there’s support my project probably would not have been as successful. I have done what others wish they could. The ability to pull a community together for the better to help those less fortunate. 1,500 backpacks full of school supplies were collected over a 5 month period. 1,500 students from 4 local schools received backpacks.”

Also the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres gave FGCU $10,000 for their scholarship programs
