G. Weaver Hipps Elementary School off Homestead Road was placed on lockdown due to ‘neighborhood activity,’ according to the Lee County School District. According to a Lee County Sheriff Office PIO the lockdown was canceled at 1:20 pm and all is clear and safe.

As a parent of two children at this school, they send messages to my phone on a daily basis it seems. Today, the day, they should have left a message; they did not. I had to hear about it from my kids after school. This is unacceptable, I will be contacting the school tomorrow,
