The time is running out on nine lady Eagle senior basketball players. As the clock strikes 2 this afternoon the careers of these exceptional athletes will become a memory to the vast majority of their devoted fans. Some will follow them until the last game plays out during their NCAA tournament run. Those who will follow them to the end may very well be rewarded with a life time memory. Just ask any fan who witnessed in person the men’s sweet sixteen miracle just 3 years ago!
That being said, what the basketball Gods have in store for these ladies, their teammates, coaches, and fans is still unknown, but the prospects are exciting. A majority of this class of graduates has bee a part of every NCAA D1 Ladies tournament game ever played at FGCU. They have been a part of the most successful 4 years of basketball in the history of the university. They have a conference winning streak of 45 games and haven’t lost a game at home since…. well since Grant took Richmond and George W. Bush was President.
So, buckle up sport fans, March madness is about to begin!
