Lehigh Acres Water Main Restored

Hundreds of Lehigh Acres residents finally have water back after an 11-hour ordeal that began as a utility pole install.

A water main broke and crews had been working to fix it since 1 p.m. Friday.

It happened along Lee Boulevard.

Power crews were digging holes when they hit the water main, affecting people from Gunnery Road to Leonard Boulevard.

The upside? She was prepared for the drought — just not for how long it would last. Crews originally told us the water wouldn’t be back to normal until Tuesday, but water was restored late Friday evening.

Residents are advised to boil water for at least the next 48 – 72 hours.
