Lee County Sheriff’s Office Death Investigation Drowning

On Saturday March 5, 2016, at 5:00 pm the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible drowning involving a 17-year-old male in a lake near 2501 25th Street W. Lehigh Acres.

Due to the nature of the incident, detectives of the Lee Country Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Dive Team responded and began conducting a death investigation.

Investigation revealed several juveniles were swimming at the above location when 17-year-old Elaundre Ahmed Foster began having trouble swimming and went under. Several of the juveniles attempted to rescue Foster but were unable to locate him in the murky water. Emergency 911 was called and a joint effort with Lee County EMS, Fish and Wildlife, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office began a search for Foster.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office Divers were able to locate Foster in the water around 8:45pm deceased. There are no signs of foul play and all indications revealed this to be a tragic accident.
