A Lehigh Acres Gazette reader Elizabeth O’Donnell posted this on Facebook – “I was driving on SR 82 when I came upon a turtle crossing the road. I stopped to let him get out of my lane, (much to the dismay of those behind me), but I couldn’t get out to move him, due to oncoming traffic. As he moved into the oncoming lane I began to flash my lights at the approaching traffic. I noticed the first car in the line of traffic was a Lee County Sheriff and was delighted to see him turn on his lights to stop traffic! Thanks Lee County Sheriff, you saved the day!”
