The Sheriff’s Office fraud line has received several phone calls from residents asking if a letter they received from Radiology Regional alerting patients of a data breach was legitimate or a hoax.
If you received a letter from the diagnostic and imaging company it is important you don’t dismiss it.
In December of 2015, more than 480,000 people had their patient records compromised, which could have contained names, social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers and medical status.
Radiology Regional is offering one year of Equifax Credit Watch service. You can enroll via the website listed on the letter, using the activation code at the top of the letter you received.
Any affected patients may call 877-853-3045 for additional information, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PST (closed on U.S. observed holidays).
