The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has issued a Pressurized Sewer Mainline Break Advisory Notice in the FGUA Lehigh Acres System. Customers should not expect to experience any interruption of service. This is a 12 inch sewer force main break that occurred at approximately 10:30 am at the intersection of Homestead Road and Alabama Road in Lehigh Acres, FL.
The cause of the break has not yet been determined. Service crews are on site assessing the damage to the pipe. Due to the location of the break, repairs are anticipated to take 8-10 hrs. Upon completion of repairs, a report will be prepared by US Water Services Corporation, the System Operator and submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection.
