Riverdale Student Arrested
After Bomb Threat

A female ninth-grade student at Riverdale High School was arrested in connection with a Wednesday morning bomb threat.

A Lee County School District spokesperson confirmed that a threatening note was found in a girl’s bathroom at the school. The building was briefly evacuated and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigated before students returned to class.

The arrested student faces suspension or expulsion, the district spokesperson said.

A similar threat — involving a note found in a boy’s bathroom — also prompted a lockdown and evacuation at Lehigh Senior High School, but no arrests have been confirmed.

Students had been moved to on-campus stadiums at each location while buildings were inspected.
