Fort Myers police have identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash along Treeline Avenue early Friday morning.
Police say 48-year-old Jose Navarro of Lehigh Acres was heading northbound on Treeline when lost control near the intersection of Silver Ridge Boulevard just after midnight.
A friend of the victim said he was riding behind him when he saw his friend’s taillights disappear into the trees. He said they were heading home from a bar.
His friend also says the victim is a husband and father of two.
Police say a preliminary investigation cites speed as a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
