Family members have identified the victim as 21-year-old Rashawn Myers, of Lehigh Acres.
LCSO Deputies first responded to the area around 10:40 p.m. Deputies conducted investigations at several separate locations – next to a bowling alley, at a shopping plaza, next to an LCSO substation and on Penfield Street.
Detectives concluded their investigation at the plaza and near the substation Friday morning but remained at the scene next to the bowling alley.
There is also a separate scene on Penfield Street where four homes are surrounded with crime scene tape. Deputies are there with K-9 units.
Homestead Road was shut down for several hours from Stacey Boulevard to Taylor Lane but deputies re-opened the roadway just after 6 a.m.
A white vehicle that was part of the investigation has been towed from the scene.
