Brenda M. O’Neil Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Preferred Community Bank said, “We are only acquiring the Lehigh Acres branch of Reliance Bank.” She went on to say “Preferred Community Bank is 100% committed to the community of Lehigh Acres.”
Richard M. Sems President and CEO of Reliance Bank confirmed the acquisition of the Lehigh Acres Reliance branch by Preferred Community Bank that is in the hands of the FDIC for approval. Sems would not comment on the Reliance branch in Ft Myers at this time or any employee layoffs in the future.![]()

Preferred Community Bank in Lehigh Acres is waiting for the last of the diligence from Culver’s Restaurant to sell their current property to them.
The unnamed source believes those transactions will happen within the next 90 days
