Tuberculosis is a highly contagious disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that TB is second only to HIV and AIDS as the greatest global killer.
With the lack of trust and respect in the fire district, and the Fire Chief having a vindictive personality with many of the firefighters we may never learn of the truth why:
1) Not all Lehigh Acres Firefighters received a TB test during their physicals.
2) Not all Lehigh Acres Firefighters had their TB test read or the test was read after test window was closed.
3) Documents received by the district show that some tests have falsified signatures on who actually read the tests.
Asking of Fire Chief John Wayne if he know about these issues, he said “YES”, and according to him they have addressed the issues.
But Wayne admitted to the Fire Board his not going to do anything about unless an employee (firefighter) tells him of an issue.
Even after that, the Lehigh Acres Gazette displayed to the elected board and Chief a document of a falsified signature on a TB form and the Chief still tries to white washes tuberculosis issue.
Why does the fire department have requirements of physicals and certain test in those physicals but when certain firefighters do not received a TB test during their physicals or not all Lehigh Acres Firefighters had their TB test read or the test was read after test window was closed or documents received by the district show that some tests have falsified signatures, why isn’t the Chief Wayne up in arms about?
If a firefighter do not received a TB test during their physicals or not all Lehigh Acres Firefighters had their TB test read or the test was read after test window was closed or documents received by the district show that some tests have falsified signatures but by fire board policy the psychical is not done the firefighter should not be working until the matter is cleared up.
So is Chief Wayne protecting the men and citizens Lehigh Acres or is he manipulating policy to protect his own ass again.
