October’s Featured Artist at the AOI Gallery at Lehigh Regional Medical Center Café, 1500 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres is Becca Pratt. Ms. Pratt grew up in rural upstate New York surrounded by artists as her parents were members of The Art Institute of Buffalo. She received a BA in Spanish at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and later earned teaching certificates at Cortland, New York, and USF in Ft. Myers, FL.
Becca renewed her interest in art when her father, Marcus Pratt, began teaching Sunday afternoon watercolor lessons to her family. She became involved in stage backdrops for musical productions, and school murals while teaching at Country Oaks Elementary School in LaBelle, and began painting murals on the walls and floors of her home.
Ms. Pratt currently teaches Art & Theater at Upthegrove Elementary School in LaBelle, FL. She enjoys working with watercolors, pen & ink, and pencil sketches of landscapes, still life, buildings, and animals. Her creations can also often be seen at the AOI Barron Park House Gallery in LaBelle.
