A Lehigh Acres student was seriously injured Tuesday morning as he walked to his school bus stop.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 14-year-old Wyatt Norsworthy was headed to his bus stop at the intersection of 17th Street and Henry Avenue around 6am Tuesday. That’s when troopers say he attempted to cross 17th Street and was hit by a car travelling west on 17th.
Troopers say Norsworthy, who was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash, was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
The driver of the car was not charged with anything.
