Lehigh Acres parents publicly shamed their child after they claim he stole from them. In fact, Ray Gordon took a picture of his son on Homestead Road, holding a sign saying “I Stole From My Family” and encouraged passers-by to “Honk If You Hate Thieves.”
The parents claimed they were trying to think outside the box for punishment, and Gordon claims to have received a lot of positive feedback from people who drove by and saw the 11-year-old boy.
Gordon said they’d tried grounding him and taking things away, and it hadn’t worked. He said the boy was caught stealing $83 this time.
Some local parents were mixed in their reactions.
