Firefighters in Lehigh Acres worked fast Sunday night to put out a brush fire they believe was deliberately set.
The four-acre blaze broke out just near Grant Boulevard and Pachman Circleoff SR-82. Lehigh Acres Firefighters say it started in an area of dense vegetation before jumping a canal and burning a large area on the other side of the bank.
Neighbors stated their saw to young girls running for the area where the fire started.
Fire Crews with the Florida Forest Service were called at around 5:15 p.m. and left when the fire was out just after 8 p.m.
Fire officials suspect it was arson.
