Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres volunteers paint Lehigh Acres sign.

On Saturday April 18th the Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Club painted the Wooden Nickel at the corner of Homestead road and Lee Boulevard. The Kiwanis club every year does a major project once a year under the auspices of its national charter call “One Day”. The one day event is a one day of volunteering on a city or community level.

Commissioner Frank Mann was at the event and was so pleased of the Kiwanis showing volunteerism. He appreciated the Kiwanians painting the sign and said it really shows community spirit.

The logo that is on the Wooden Nickel has now been trademarked by a local company Cherokee Publishing and Media Group Inc. in order to protect it for future generations.

  1. I am pleased to see this work done and especially by volunteers. I always liked the logo on the Lehigh Acres welcome sign. Now I am sure it will stay there!
