Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit are investigating a hit and run that left two women with serious injuries.
On Saturday, April 18, 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call regarding a traffic crash that occurred in the area of 8th Street SW near Floyd Avenue S. in Lehigh Acres. The women were walking on the shoulder of the road when they were struck by an unknown colored 2009-2011 Ford F150.
As a result of the crash, the entire passenger side mirror and mirror housing were knocked off of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then continued on and struck a mailbox located in front of 431 8th Street SW. The women were then taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for injuries they sustained in the hit and run crash.
