There were some startling moments on board a Lee County School bus these Tuesday morning after a fly by ducky incident with a large bird later determined to be a duck (may be Donald).
It happened along Coolidge Avenue near the intersection of West Jasmine Street in Lehigh Acres.
Bus number 2646 had its windshield damaged by a duck but no one on the school bus was hurt. The duck’s impact shattered the glass sending glass all over.
Robert Morgan with the Lee County Schools transportation department in an email statement said that a duck hit the right part of the windshield to cause it to break. No children were hurt and the bus driver had a minor eye irritation.
A new bus was brought in to finish the route for the students and the driver was back on the job.
As far as the duck goes, we at the Lehigh Acres Gazette hope he or she is okay.
