Developers are once again promoting a housing project that has proven controversial in the past.
After being on the back burner for about a year, they’re reviving plans for Bentley Crossings.
The project would bring many new homes and businesses to land northwest of the intersection of Gunnery and Buckingham Roads.
People who live and work near the property say they moved there because it’s not very populated. They don’t want hundreds of new homes, right next to them.
Others say they want more growth, and more people will mean more business.
Change is inevitable and Lehigh Acres needs to continue to grow. Those in opposition were not given any gaurantee that there would not be any development when they moved to the area. My hope is that this development will result in the improvement of a very dangerous intersection that is a major hazard and an accident waiting to happen.
